The Hirosaki Market Festival will be held for the first time in four years on November 26th at the Hirosaki Regional Wholesale Market (Suehiro, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-27-5511 ).

This is an annual event held once a year by the market, which sells fruits and vegetables, mainly apples, as well as agricultural and marine products from all over the country. This year marks the 26th anniversary of the event, which was started with the aim of deepening interactions with consumers and maximizing the presence of the market. Nearly 20,000 people visit each year. This will be the first time the event will be held since 2019, as it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The main event will be a crab hot pot made in a 2.5 meter diameter pot that will serve 5,000 people. Other activities include a tuna butchering show, a mock auction of scallops and other seafood, and a flower auction. There will also be a lottery competition and a mascot stage show at the main venue.

At the seafood intermediate wholesale market, the general wholesale center, and the third wholesale market, apples and seafood bowls are sold, stores opened by the wholesale center, and a 2-meter giant apple pie is sold by the "Giant Apple Pie World Challenging Association". There will be demonstrations and sales, and a play area for children such as ring toss and darts.

The event is held from 7am to 11am.
