Tanabe Shrine, a historical shrine in the center of Mutsu City.

The "Tanabe Shrine Annual Festival", which is celebrated every year from August 18th to 20th, is the largest festival in Shimokita. It is said to follow the flow of the Kyoto Gion Festival, which was conveyed by the Kitamae ship, and gorgeous floats float around the city together with the music.

Around the Tanabe Shrine, there is a bar area called Shrine Yokocho, and you can feel nostalgia for the sight of colorful signs. It's a spot where you can enjoy the night town while drinking sake from the Shinto shrine.
