The Tyrannosaurus Race Hirosaki Executive Committee is currently recruiting participants for the snow race to be held on February 12th.

The event, in which people wear dinosaur costumes and run on grass and sand, is an event that originated in the United States. Held in Asamushi, Hiranai, Hachinohe, and Nanbu in Aomori Prefecture. Hirosaki will be held for the first time.

Mayumi Naraoka, a staff member of the executive committee secretariat, said, "I came up with the idea of holding a race on New Year's Day and planned it. Volunteers are currently gathering and preparing. I wanted to make it an event unique to snow country, so I was particular about racing on snow. Participation condition is to prepare a dinosaur costume. The race uses the snow of Tsuchibuchigawa Yoshinocho Ryokuchi and runs 50 meters. 40 years old and over (senior) and junior high school students to 39 years old (young) will be the "adult division", elementary school students will be "infant division", preschool children will be "baby division". Participation fee (including one-day insurance subscription fee) is 1,000 yen for adults and 500 yen for babies and juveniles. The capacity is the first 100 people.

According to Mr. Naraoka, when the recruitment started at 15:00 on the 15th, nearly half of the capacity was applied. “By holding the sprint in Hirosaki, which has become a hot topic for being 'surreal and interesting,' I hope it will bring laughter, energy, and vitality not only to the contestants, but to everyone,” says Naraoka.

At the venue on the day of the event, "CAFE & RESTAURANT BRICK" will open, and restaurants are scheduled to open. Mr. Naraoka said, "I'm trying to get started with this event. I'm looking for staff on the day and sponsorships such as goods as prizes for the race. I would like to create a fun event with everyone's help."

The event is held from 11:00 to 15:00. Free admission. Applications will be accepted through the executive committee's Google form.
