The top-ranked article in the Aomori Keizai Shimbun (hereinafter referred to as Aomori Keizai Shimbun) annual PV (page view) ranking for 2024 was an article reporting on the opening of ramen restaurant Ryumen in the &LOVINA building at the east exit of Aomori Station.

The ranking was made by tallying up the number of views of "Headline News" that were distributed between January 1 and December 12 of this year. The top 10 rankings are as follows (the dates in parentheses are the publication dates):

    1. A ramen expert from Aomori opens ramen shop "Ryumen" in Aomori Station Building (4/25)

    2. Saizeriya to open at Aomori Station "Andravina" 8 stores revealed, including Starbucks relocation (1/31)

    3. A gas station on the Aomori West Bypass becomes a hot topic on social media with comments like "I love the visuals" (7/19)

    4. Aomori - Fresh pasta specialty store "Dari" - Former prefectural employee returns to his hometown and finally opens his dream business (9/26)

    5. 360-degree night view from the music bar "Umi to Hikari" in Aspam, Aomori (1/18)

    6. Sannosuke: A local sake specialty store in Aomori. Specializing in Aomori local sake, including Denshu, Hassen, and Toyobai (7/2)

    7. Okayama consulting company opens "Beef belly yakiniku restaurant" in Aomori (5/8)

    8. Ramen shop "Bunshiro" in Namioka: "Showa retro" themed interior, magic show available (2/18)

    9. Crepe specialty store "Kawato Crepe" "Gymnastics Teacher" will open (9/30)

    10. Coffee Festival in Aomori, including a report on the current status of compost made from last year's coffee grounds (9/17)

The 2024 annual ranking saw the top two from the first half of the rankings being replaced. Both were store openings at the Aomori Station building "Andravina." "Ryumen" serves ramen made with Aomori ingredients, such as "Tsugaru Chicken," which is raised on apples.

In third place was an article about a mushroom-shaped gas station that was modeled after one seen in America, which attracted a lot of attention.

Ranked 4th to 9th are articles about restaurant openings. The unique backgrounds of the owners of the restaurants also caught our eye, such as a pasta shop opened by a former prefectural employee, a crepe shop started by a gymnastics teacher, and a ramen shop where you can see magic shows.

The 10th place was an article about the Coffee Festival, an outdoor event that has become a staple coffee event in Aomori. The second day was hit by bad weather, so the only event was a sales event at the "Aomori-Hakodate Ferry Memorial Ship Hakkoda Maru," but about 10,000 people attended over the two days.

This year, the Seikei has reported on restaurants, events, hot springs, and food culture unique to Aomori, such as "Antama" and "British Toast." We would like to continue to deliver news that is close to home as the "town recorder."
