The "Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition" was held on November 13th at the Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art (Yasudakonno, Aomori City).

The exhibition looks back on Ghibli Park (Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture), which opened in November 2022, and the work and works of Goro Miyazaki, who directed the production site of Ghibli Park. In addition to the "Cat Bus" that you can "ride" and photo spots that recreate scenes from Ghibli movies, it also introduces the "Ghibli Museum in Mitaka" and the background of the animation production. This is the first time that the exhibition is held in the Tohoku area. This will be the first large-scale Studio Ghibli exhibition in Aomori in 14 years since the "Layout Exhibition" in 2010.

The Cat Bus on display at the entrance is the second one made by the Ghibli Museum, and is said to be more comfortable to sit in than the first one. "Satsuki and Mei's House" is a one-fifth scale replica of the building built at Ghibli Park. There will also be a photo spot recreating a scene from "Spirited Away." At the end of the exhibit there will be a sales corner selling Ghibli goods and goods exclusive to the Aomori venue.

On November 12th, an opening ceremony to commemorate the opening of the exhibition was held in front of Exhibition Room A. At the venue, Studio Ghibli Executive Officer Makoto Hashida gave a speech, explaining the relationship between Ghibli and Aomori. He said that in 2008, during a company trip, Ghibli stayed in Asamushi and visited Seibien Garden (Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture), which became the model for the setting of the film "The Secret World of Arrietty."

Hashida says, "There may be an impression that Ghibli exhibitions are difficult to understand, but there are many exhibits for children, so I would be happy if children can enjoy them even if they don't understand. I would also like people to invite parents and children, as well as grandparents, to come and see."

The event will be held from 9:30 to 17:00. Closed on November 25th, December 9th, 23rd, 26th to January 1st, January 14th and 27th. Tickets are 1,900 yen for adults and university students (1,700 yen in advance), 1,200 yen for junior and senior high school students (1,100 yen in advance), and 800 yen for 3-year-olds to elementary school students (700 yen in advance). Until February 9th, 2025.
