Hirosaki miso ramen shop "Nakamiso" reopens, with 40 people lining up before opening
Miso ramen restaurant Nakamiso Hiroro branch opened on November 8th in the food court on the fourth floor of the shopping complex Hiroro (in front of Hirosaki Station).
Nakamiso first started being served at the food court of Nakasan Goshogawara (Goshogawara City). In Hirosaki, it began being sold at the same time as the Nakasan Hirosaki store opened in 1971, and the flavor has changed little by little over the years, such as switching from white miso to red miso, until it took on its current form. It was popular mainly among students and was beloved as Hirosaki's soul food, but the Nakasan Hirosaki store suddenly closed on August 29 this year, drawing attention from local residents.
The new store will be run by "Edelight" (Aomori City), and will resume business using the dishes and trays from the previous store. Prices will be set about 80 yen higher.
The menu includes miso ramen (800 yen) and spicy miso ramen (850 yen). For both, a large serving costs an extra 100 yen, and a small serving costs 100 yen off. Toppings such as raw eggs, butter, corn (all 80 yen) and char siu (180 yen) are available.
On the first day of the opening, a line of about 40 people formed before the opening time of 11 a.m. Kana Miura, the fourth-generation manager of Nakamiso who has worked at the restaurant for 17 years, said, "We were able to reopen thanks to everyone's cooperation. This ramen is so loved by people from Hirosaki that even people returning home to visit will stop by before going back to their hometowns. We want to continue serving it so that people can continue to eat it."
Business hours are 11:00-19:00 (last order).
