"BLUE Festival" to be held, where people can enjoy rhythmic gymnastics and exercise, and even try backflips
The "BLUE Festival," an event where people can enjoy rhythmic gymnastics performances and exercise, will be held on October 27th at Aomori City's new general gymnasium, the Kakuhiro Group Super Arena (Uramachi, Aomori City).
The concept of this event is to make exercise more accessible. The main venue is the "Sub-Arena" in the building, and there will be a timetable with programs such as rhythmic gymnastics performances, performances by unicycle clubs and cheer dance teams active in Aomori, and a sports day that anyone can join and enjoy. There will also be a stamp rally where you can participate in a lottery to win prizes, and the "BLUE Marche" will be held in the semi-outdoor space "Yoridoma" at the entrance, where food will be sold, craft experiences will be available, and a relaxation menu will be offered.
The event is organized by "BLUE ties Impression," which runs the gymnastics club "BLUE KIDS" in Aomori Prefecture. Representative Motoki Kawato says, "I want not only children, but also adults to move their bodies and enjoy something together. I hope that it will be an opportunity for everyone to communicate on an equal footing through exercise, regardless of whether they do well or not, or win or lose."
The main event, the rhythmic gymnastics performance, will feature athletes from "BLUE KIDS," Aomori Yamada High School, and Aomori University. As guests, the Kokushikan University Men's Gymnastics Club, whose captain is one of Kawado's students, will perform a group routine. "I hope you enjoy our energetic and powerful performance," said Kawado.
In addition to team competitions in which participants stack various sizes of cardboard boxes within a time limit, the athletic meet will feature a crawling contest in which participants of all ages and genders can participate, with participants divided into age groups. The event will feature a "backflip for everyone" where participants can experience a backflip with "full support from the staff" (Kawado). "I want participants to experience the field of vision when doing a backflip," says Kawado.
Kawado invites people to attend, saying, "Moving your body helps develop various senses. The important thing is to just try moving. This is an event that anyone, from children to adults, can participate in, so I hope that many people will come and experience a sense of accomplishment and excitement through a variety of exercises."
The event will be held from 10:00 to 17:00 (the museum opens at 9:00, the sub-arena opens at 9:45). Admission is free.
