Japanese sake maker Rokkaku Sake Brewery (Miyaji Kawazoe, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-88-7280 ) is currently recruiting volunteer staff to promote the company's brand, Torai.

This is a long-established sake brewery with over 300 years of history, and its signature brand "Joppari" is widely known. Previously, the brewery focused on large-scale brewing in factories, but in response to changes in the times and consumption styles, it switched to small-scale, high-quality sake brewing centered on pure rice sake. In 2023, the brewery moved to the foot of Mount Iwaki, one of Japan's 100 most famous mountains, and updated its flagship brand to "Morikurai."

A year has passed since the new brand was launched in September last year. According to the company, although the name Morirai has gradually become more well-known within the prefecture, it is still not as well known as Joppari, and many people outside the prefecture do not know about Joppari. Utilizing Hirosaki City's "Hirosaki Connected Population Creation Project," the company is looking for people who are interested in Hirosaki and local sake and have branding know-how. The project will start in 2022, and seven companies have taken advantage of it by last year. This year, Rokka Shuzo will be the first company to take advantage.

The work will be done remotely. There will be no monetary compensation as it will be a volunteer activity in which knowledge and skills are provided free of charge, but participants will be presented with four "Morikurai" products of their choice each month. Only one person will be recruited, and the deadline for entries is September 12th.

The company's president, Yuji Kitamura, said, "We believe that in advancing our new management, it is important for experts and influencers to use social media to disseminate information. We want people to apply." Saki Ishiyama, a person in charge of recruiting, said, "Most local companies are small and medium-sized, and there are very few people who specialize in disseminating information. We hope to be able to use 'outside forces' to solve problems."

Applications will be accepted on the "Furusato Kengyo" website.
