Aomori Nebuta Festival x "Haikyu!!" collaboration: British toast and goldfish Neputa
A nebuta in collaboration with the anime "Haikyu!!" will be taking to the Aomori Nebuta Festival.
"Haikyu!!" is a manga about high school volleyball that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) until 2020, and the animated film "Haikyu!! The Movie: Battle at the Dump" released this year was a huge hit, grossing over 10 billion yen at the box office.
The nebuta that was created is a small one called a front nebuta that is paraded in front of the large nebuta, and is based on the scene where the main characters, Hinata Shoyo and Kozume Kenma, confront each other with knives pointed at them. It was created by nebuta artist Tatsuta Ryuho.
In conjunction with the collaboration, the Aomori Prefectural Tourist and Products Center Aspam (Yasukata, Aomori City) 1st floor "Aomori Prefecture Local Select" will be selling original goods such as acrylic stands, as well as preparing crow and cat goldfish Neputa (1,900 yen each) in honor of the main character's team "Karasuno High School" and rival school "Nekoma High School". In addition, a "photo spot for stuffed toys and acrylic stands" has been set up on the 13th floor observation deck. The installation will be available until August 31st.
In collaboration with Aomori bread company Kudo Pan (Furukawa), which produces its signature product, British Toast, the company will be selling British Toast (Aomori apple jam and milk-flavored whipped cream) for a limited time until the end of August, featuring characters from Haikyu!! dressed in festival costumes.
The collaborative Nebuta will be operated as the front Nebuta of the "JR Nebuta Project." The operation date is four days from August 3rd to 6th.
