The Yasugata Minato Festival Music Festival "Sound of the Sun vol.1" will be held on July 21st at the special stage at Aoiumi Park (Yasukata 2, Aomori City).

This outdoor music event will be held as part of the stage content on the third day of the 34th Aomori Agata Minato Festival, which will be held from July 19th to 21st. This year, six artists including ORANGE RANGE and OAU will be performing.

The executive committee was established in 2022 in response to the desire of Masahiro Watanabe, a singer-songwriter from Aomori who was battling cancer, to "hold a festival in Aomori." The executive committee held "Sound of the Sun Vol. 0" in July last year, following the wishes of Watanabe, who passed away on April 25 last year.

The six artists who will be performing are those who were friends with Watanabe when he was alive or who supported the holding of the festival in Aomori. Singer-songwriter kojikoji and the band "Girasoul" to which Watanabe belonged will be performing for the second time after last year.

Nakamura Koichi, chairman of the executive committee, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We would like to carry on Watanabe's will and develop this music festival into one that can spread the charm of Aomori."

The event will be held from 11:30 to 20:30. Admission is free.
